ABOUT
Our Post
The Harold B. Larkin Memorial Post 187 first applied for and was granted a Temporary Charter by the National Organization of The American Legion on January 5, 1920 making us one of the oldest posts in the country. The permanent charter was granted on February 18, 1929 and we were known as the Kilbourn post until August 17, 1937 when the post incorporated after Kilbourn had changed it’s name to Wisconsin Dells on December 15, 1931.
Our Mission
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.
